MICHAEL SCHIBEL is the founder of THE SCHIBEL GROUP, is a Multi Media Expert, Journalist, and Guru of optimism and life experiences.
The Schibel Group focuses on talent management show development, production of live events and the development of multi media concepts. Mike has worked with talent in one capacity or another for 12 years. It began when Mike, an aspiring sportscaster at Emerson College, broadcast a weekly radio program,“Sports Sunday”, which won the Associated Press award for Best College Sports Radio Show in New England, two years in a row.
After college, Mike worked in Los Angeles for the broadcasting
talent agency Ken Lindner and Associates. He learned the ins and outs of representing on-air news talent by working closely with broadcasting agent legend, Ken Linder. Mike was
responsible for recruiting up and coming talent, marketing their demos to TV stations all over the country, and making deals for agency clients.
Mike took his experience and knowledge of the local news market place to a growing television consulting company,TheBroadcastImageGroup,inSanAntonio,Texas,focusingonon-airtalentrecruitmentfor 25localTV stations and syndication companies. Mike built strong relationships with news management, sales managers, and station group representatives.
In 2005, Mike headed back to LA as the head of the Hosting and Broadcasting Department for AKA Talent Agency. With a wide range of clients, Mike put together deals with TV networks, local news stations, syndication companies, production companies, radio programs, and national sports networks.
Mike decided to hang up his own shingle and created The Schibel Group in 2007. He worked with a unique mix of talent and producers. In the spring of 2008, Mike’s vision of a live show combining music and magic came to life. He was co-creator of the Grammy Award –Winning artist Jason Mraz tour “Music, Magic, and Make Peace“.
In September 2010 Mike stepped away from his day to day life in Los Angeles and without a plan, time frame, or knowing anyone, bought a one way ticket to Australia. Being open to whatever came his way Mike was in search of great adventures, experiences, life lessons, and inspiring people.What transpired was a more incredible journey than could have been imagined.The website,“My Grateful Journey” was created to blog and vlog about his trip.
Inspired from his travels and experiences Mike began working with New Zealand based tour company Stray January 2012. Helping the company expand marketing through social media and creating a global multi media contest called “Stray With Me” to award a dream job of a Stray Asia Adventure guide.
Michael is currently working as a social media expert and doing sales for inspiring products, brands and personalities in Los Angeles while developing travel projects.
